Every all-in monthly number on SOZOMOTO is the sum of five estimates. Here is how each one is calculated.
What's included
- Loan payment — the car's price minus $5,000 down, financed over 60 months. Without a profile we use a Dallas-area average APR of 6.9%. With a credit band we use 4.88% (excellent), 6.51% (good), 9.77% (fair) or 13.34% (building), from Experian's published market averages.
- Insurance — without a profile, a typical DFW full-coverage premium (about $190/month) scaled up or down by the vehicle's insurance cost group. With your age range, we adjust for age. These are modeled estimates, not quotes from an insurer.
- Fuel — 1,000 miles a month at the car's rated MPG, at $3 per gallon (EVs: $1 per gallon-equivalent of electricity).
- Registration & fees — your state's registration and title fees, spread monthly, based on your ZIP code.
- Maintenance — the vehicle's typical annual maintenance cost, spread monthly.
What's not included
- Depreciation (what the car loses in value).
- Sales tax, dealer fees, and any trade-in credit.
- Repairs outside normal maintenance, tolls, parking.
